Ex-voto

G-super, acrylic, varnish.Various sizes. Classically, there is a mould and multiple prints. Here, the matrix is chosen through infinite similar matrices, and the etching is unique. This inversion highlights the hubris of waste. These products that seem to be perpetual, lead us to believe that they are eternal. However, sooner or later, they will cease being reproduced – they are already relics. In the end, the envelope and the marks that defined the matrix, leave a fleshless trace of what it was and what it contained. The whole is a homage to neglected everyday objects in our environment, our rituals, and our customs. This series creates tension between what is sacrosanct and what is waste, between the valuable and the valueless, and between art and consumption.
