Pistoletto Ajax

UV impression on mirror.40 x 30 x 1 cm. Ajax is an actual size reproduction of a window spray, printed on a mirror. This work refers to Arte Povera and to the work of the Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto. The mirror questions the concept of present time, because its reflection is essentially always in the present. The portrayal and the mirror are self-perpetuating and bring the reflection and the object into question. This association speaks of the present era where self-image is essential to our social relationships. This image is not a true reflection of our real identity. We have to self-brand and collect membership cards in order to validate our existence within a community.
